Playgrounds

Come and Join us for a fun-filled summer of “free” activities at 10 different playground locations throughout the City. Children aged 6 – 12 are welcome to join in this summer’s playground programs that will include cooperative games, crafts, songs, stories, sports and much more. Each week there is a different theme and special event planned for all the kids to enjoy. It all gets underway on Wednesday July 2nd, 2008 and runs until Friday August 15th, 2008.

We will also be offering “free of charge” a summer sports program, arts program and cultural program alongside with our regularly planned daily activities. Each one of these programs will be traveling from playground to playground to offer the children different sporting and craft activities that children may not be able to experience on a daily basis or may be trying out for the very first time. This year’s sports will include: Karate, Boxing, Golf, Rugby, Lacrosse and Tennis.

Each one of our playgrounds is staffed by two qualified and trained playground supervisor’s. The hours of operation for the playground programs are Monday to Thursday 12:00 noon – 5:30 p.m. and Friday’s from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Ella Muzzy paddling pool in Kinsmen Park is open 7 days a week. Monday to Thursday we are open from 12:00 noon – 5:30 p.m. and Friday to Sunday we are open from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Take note that we are not offering an evening program this year but have extended the hours of our afternoon program so that our paddling pools will be open longer for all those hot summer days that you will get to enjoy.
