In 2005, The Prince Albert Development Plan Advisory Committee was formed. The purpose of the Committee is to provide input regarding the creation of the Prince Albert Development Plan as well as feedback and pertinent information to the Economic Development & Planning Department. The Committee will represent the issues and concerns of local social, economic and environmental stakeholder groups within the City of Prince Albert .
Committee’s Goals and Objectives

To convey the concerns of local residents, organizations, governments, and businesses in the city.

To provide input to the Economic Development & Planning Department in a collaborative fashion.

To facilitate a deeper understanding of project needs, social, economic and environmental issues and constraints.

To participate in developing design solutions that maximize orderly and efficient development of the city while minimizing social, economic and environmental negative impacts, community disruptions and costs.

To participate in the development of an implementation plan for the Development Plan.
Expected Outcomes
Upon conclusion of this project, it is expected that a Development Plan be formulated and a detailed implementation plan be established. It is envisioned that, based on the data and public input, the proposed Development Plan will be adopted and implemented.

The Advisory Committee consists of representatives appointed by Council from the social, economic and environmental sectors, the municipality, and other government jurisdictions.

How can you get involved?
Economic Development and Planning intends to consult with the broader public when formulating this Plan. An educational workbook with a community profile and survey will be issued to the public in 2006. Watch this Web site for further updates.
